Build an Off Grid Wikipedia with #RaspberryPi

We all rely on the internet as a reference library. In those cases when you do not have access to the internet, it's pretty difficult to access the information you need. What if you could build a device that had the entirety of Wikipedia on it and you could connect to it with your phone no matter where you are? Offline Wikipedia Wireless Access Point on a Raspberry Pi using Kiwix

In this video I go over the process of installing Raspbian on a Raspberry Pi. Then I install Kiwix Offline Wikipedia server. Finally, I set up the Raspberry Pi as a standalone WiFi access point with DHCP to serve Wikipedia to wireless clients. All DNS requests direct clients to the Kiwix server. I use Overlay FS to make a read only system so you can turn it off without shutting it down. Today we will be installing Wikijs Docker container on a Raspberry Pi 4 using Portainer. This is episode 31 in our Raspberry Pi series. Wikijs is a self hosted open source Wiki application that is supported and actively used by some big names in the tech industry. It integrates with over 50+ external applications like AWS, Azure and Facebook. It can be used for business teams or technical enthusiasts looking for somewhere to store documentation. It offers several editors, plain text, markdown and a visual builder with more in development. Easily search for the content you need and set up user authentication to secure content and restrict access. 2FA is also supported. This Wiki has it all and we highly recommend it. If you are wanting to use your own domain you can set this up using NGINX Proxy Manager. It is not covered in todays tutorial however if you would like us to cover it in a later episode please let us know in the comments below or on our YouTube video for this episode. RASPBERRY PI - WikiVidi Documentary

The Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to promote the teaching of basic computer science in schools and in developing countries. The original model became far more popular than anticipated, selling outside of its target market for uses such as robotics. Peripherals are not included with the Raspberry Pi. Some accessories however have been included in several official and unofficial bundles. According to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, over 5 million Raspberry Pis have been sold before February 2015, making it the best-selling British computer. By November 2016 they had sold 11 million units.... 🤍 Shortcuts to chapters: 00:01:01: Overview 00:04:24: Hardware 00:05:30: Processor Copyright WikiVidi. Licensed under Creative Commons.

- INTERFACES - RGB-Pi: 🤍 VGA666: 🤍 🤍 Retrocables VGA a SCART: 🤍 VGA a SCART sin audio: 🤍 Pi2SCART: 🤍 PROLONGADOR MACHO SCART KABELDIREKT: 🤍 - IMÁGENES DE SISTEMAS OPERATIVOS - RGB-Pi OS: 🤍 RETROPIE CRT EVO: 🤍 REGAMEBOX: 🤍 - MÚSICA DE ESTE VIDEO - EVAN KING: 🤍 MELODIA RETROMOJONES BY EL REY PESCADOR: 🤍

These are machine learned software that can recognise more than 6,000 species worldwide from audio. Theres No Cloud Analysis happening here, every identification is figured out by the Raspberry Pi. The system we are building here can run 24/7 non-stop. It records, tracks, and displays each recognised bird call. It provides confidence values. You can also access the data and the audio live stream through any locally connected computer/device. It even saves the best recordings so you can listen to them later. If you want to exclude species from being identified or focus on just a single species you can do so using the UI easily. As you read this around the world there are many Raspberry Pis around the globe running BirdNet Pi right now. Some have even been specially set up you can tune into them from anywhere in the world, from Nijmegen Netherlands, to Tyresö Sweden and Louisiana the Land of the Free (Links to them in Full Article). There are other great community projects that have sprung about recently that tap into this technology, like Birdweather. The Birdweather Website feeds all the data from BirdNET-Pi systems into a single place. It has a budding worldwide coverage and lets you easily see and analyse the collected data. With enough of Pi’s set up in a city or country, the potential to figure out the flight paths and migrations of bird species in real-time would be right at our fingertips. I also 3D printed a Case that disguises the setup in the form of a Garden Rooster. The Raspberry Pi and an Omnidirectional USB Microphone tuck into it nice and safely inside. This also provides some much-needed semi-waterproofing for outdoor placement. You could power the Rooster with a battery (and even solar panels!) but for today I will give those birdies a small chance of detecting my detection device and utilised wall power.
