Next in the line-up of military simulators, this huge add-on for the recently released Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead deploys on August 26th and delivers a new campaign, numerous single missions and a brand new faction, expanding upon the already epic collection offered up by Arma 2's mil-sim sandbox. Players take on the role of British paratroopers and engage the enemy on an asymmetric battlefield. Less than two months after Operation Arrowhead successfully routed the Takistani military regime, NATO coalition forces face a large-scale outbreak of guerilla insurgency. A mechanized force of British troops is about to deploy and embark upon a large-scale counter-insurgency campaign, which will define the future of the coalition presence in Takistan: Operation "Crimson Lance". It's ARMAZING! Practically everything here can be accomplished in vanilla Arma. The only mods I made use of (which seldom appear in the video) are effects and sound based, 'cept the chicken - that's done by SLX wounds. Oh yeah, and the zombie. He's from Undead mod. The crazy vehicles are built in the editor using the AttachTo command. 🤍 Song is (a three times extended version of) Tea and Crumpets by Nal1200.

"Building on 10 years of experience and constant engine development, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead boasts the most realistic combat environment in the world." For real though, I admire Bohemia Interactive for the attention to detail they put in, but the campaign really hasn't aged well unlike multiplayer. But who gets this game for singleplayer anyway am I right? The way Arrowhead's campaign currently plays out, which I'm sure BI didn't intend, it looks like some sort of Iraq invasion satire where the American forces go in full of trumped up patriotism, but the whole op explodes in their faces and the only thing seeing them through it is their sheer ignorance to the disaster at hand.
